Founder & Structuring Specialist

Abhijeet Shah is the Founder of Coortus and is a Structuring specialist. Abhijeet continues to work very closely with Promoters, Business families and large to mid-sized businesses/ companies on complex structurings, deals, negotiations.
Abhijeet has over 15 years of core experience in Structurings and has worked on multiple large & complex structurings, M&As – from term sheet negotiations to closure of transactions. Abhijeet has also worked with multiple business families on ownership structures – domestic and cross-border, family settlement situations and succession plannings. Abhijeet has successfully implemented more 25 family ownership structures involving size of wealth, regulatory and cross border complexities.
Abhijeet also possess strong expertise on global M&A and Structuring related laws.

Partner – Valuations & Business Modelling

Pruthvi Mota leads the valuation practice in Coortus Advisors. He is a Chartered Accountant (India) & Chartered Financial Analyst (USA) with more than a decade of core experience in the valuations field.
His gamut of expertise covers deal valuations, portfolio valuations for funds, merger/demerger, litigation/ disputes valuations, intangible assets, ESOPs, financial instruments with complex options and valuation for regulatory purposes including IND-AS, Income Tax, FEMA, and Capital Market Regulations. He possesses in-depth knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and IND AS reporting standards for valuations.
He has been pivotal in advising the clients on value discovery of their businesses and corporations.
He is an active speaker in leading forums on Valuation topics.
Prior to Coortus, he was associated with BDO India for 8 years.

Abdul Barrister is a rank holding Chartered Accountant and bring over 13 years of expertise in M&A consulting, with a strong focus on Transaction Advisory, FEMA Advisory, group restructurings, and internal reorganisation's.
He provides comprehensive support throughout the restructuring process, including stamp duty and real estate law matters.
Abdul has a broad client base, working with both foreign and domestic clientsacross a range of industries, including Real Estate, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Renewables, and IT/ITeS
His experience allows him to deliver end - to- end solutions tailored to each client's needs.

Anirudha Jain is a Chartered Accountant & Chartered Financial Analyst, USA with over 11 years of specialized experience in Mergers & Acquisitions. He brings expertise in executing concept - to - completion engagements across a wide range of strategic and financial transactions.
His work spans transaction structuring, business and asset valuations, engagement with family offices and succession planning, negotiation support and drafting of complex structuring documents.
Anirudha also has experience in handling insolvency and bankruptcy advisory, guiding stakeholders through resolution processes under IBC and executing voluntary liquidations

Associate Partner - Structuring

Arpita Choudhary is a Chartered Accountant and a Lawyer with over 10 years of experience. She specialises in structuring and transaction advisory with a strong focus on regulatory laws, exchange control regulations, and corporate and international tax matters. She has advised clients on complex transactions by leveraging her deep understanding of FEMA, DTAAs, stamp duty, and allied regulations, ensuring that deal structures are both compliant and tax efficient.
She is experienced in advising on India entry and exit strategies, structuring transactions through the IFSC at GIFT City and regularly works on cross-border mandates including designing tax-efficient investment and divestment structures. She brings a well-rounded perspective that integrates tax, regulatory, legal, and commercial considerations. She works closely with CXOs, and global advisors to anticipate issues early and implement robust structures. Arpita works with both foreign and domestic clients across industries, including Agri tech, renewable energy, consumer products, semi-conductors, logistics etc.
She is a member of the Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) and actively contributes to the professional community through speaking engagements at law schools and professional forums. She has previously served as a co-opted member of the Direct Tax Committee of WIRC of ICAI. Prior to joining Coortus, Arpita has worked with Economic Laws Practice and PwC.

Per Hornung Pedersen anchors our German/ European Practice as we believe strongly on the Indo-German Business Corridor. He brings 30+ years of international experience working as an executive and for the past decade as a professional Board member. His focus for the past 20 years has been the renewable sector with focus on strategy, business development and M&A.
Per has been in the renewable energy sector since 2000 working in executive positions with leading global wind OEMs. Until mid 2004 as CFO with NEG Micon/Vestas, thereafter building the international organization for Suzlon, responsible for the world outside of India as CEO. From end 2007 to mid 2011 CEO of Repower in Hamburg Germany.
Since mid 2011 working as independent director /non-executive director and advisor to various companies as: Senior Advisor to McKinsey, Senior Advisor Atrium Partners , Copenhagen. Senior Advisor MCF Corporate Finance Hamburg .

Mr. Kiran Acharya is a seasoned finance professional with over four decades of extensive work experience in India & Sweden in the strategy leadership positions, M&A and Restructuring, Global tax, Fund & Treasury Management and Governance & Compliance. He has built deep expertise in driving financial discipline, optimizing capital allocation and strengthening organizational governance across diverse business environments and locations.
He has held senior leadership positions including roles as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Sandvik Coromant, where he has been instrumental in shaping long-term financial strategies and supporting business growth.
Kiran's experience also extends to mentoring leadership teams, strengthening internal systems, and guiding companies through complex financial and strategic decisions. Known for his pragmatic approach and depth of financial acumen, Kiran continues to contribute as a strategic advisor and mentor. His vast experience, both in India & Sweden, coupled with a strong understanding of business dynamics, positions him as a trusted leader in the finance and advisory ecosystem.
